Coral Health Training Workshop at SDMRI, 05-08 Dec. 2016

A training workshop on coral health was conducted for the young reef researchers across India at Suganthi Devadason Marine Research Institute (SDMRI) during December 05 to 08, 2016. The training workshop was organized by SDMRI and internationally renowned coral disease experts, Dr Greta S Aeby, Univeristy of Hawaii, USA and Dr Thierry M Work, IUCN Wildlife Health Specialist Group, USA were the instructors. Thirteen researchers from various Government and Non Government organizations who involved in reef research were selected as participants and they represented the different reef regions of India. A manual on coral health with standard protocols was published and distributed to all the participants, other reef researchers, institutions, Government and Non-Government agencies.
